With the start of Mois du Doc, the annual event that promotes Belgian documentaries in French language, Avila presents Eric Pauwels’ “Trilogie de la cabane” (“Cabin Trilogy”): three highly original, lovingly and playfully crafted films, which span over fifteen years of the Belgian filmmaker’s work. Blending documentary and fiction, these films, like the blue garden cabin that gives the trilogy its title, form an intimate oeuvre as well as a fertile space of memory and imagination.
À l’occasion du Mois du Doc, l’événement annuel qui célèbre le cinéma documentaire belge francophone, Avila présente la Trilogie de la cabane d’Eric Pauwels : trois films très originaux, enjoués et artisanaux, qui retracent plus de quinze ans de la carrière du cinéaste belge. Mélangeant documentaire et fiction, ces films forment une œuvre intime ainsi qu’un espace fertile de mémoire et d’imagination, à l’image de la petite cabane bleue du jardin qui donne son titre à la trilogie.
Ter gelegenheid van Mois du Doc, het jaarlijkse evenement dat Franstalige Belgische documentaires in de kijker zet, presenteert Avila Eric Pauwels’ Trilogie de la cabane: drie intieme, speelse films, gemaakt over een periode van meer dan vijftien jaar. Deze films, die documentaire en fictie vermengen, vormen een oeuvre dat tegelijkertijd intiem is en weelderig aan herinnering en verbeelding, zoals het blauwe tuinhuisje dat de trilogie haar titel geeft.
